By way of application of its HSSE policy SOMAPORT continues to place different safety measures designed to maintain full control over the relevant risks and the reduction of accidents and incidents in the container terminal
All the customers and persons granted access to the container terminal must adhere to the rules and security instructions issued by Somaport:
Rules for access to terminal:
- Wearing of helmet, fluorescent vest and safety shoes is mandatory in all operating areas.
- Access of light and two-wheel vehicles strictly forbidden.
- Adherence to instructions issued by persons in charge and SOMAPORT staff members strictly required.
- Permanent surveillance of goods in the handling and storage areas and roadways.

- Familiarization and adherence to the traffic plan and parking area required.
- Introduction and consumption of alcoholic beverages, drugs or any by-products thereof strictly forbidden
- Introduction dangerous or inflammable products (gas cylinders, etc.) strictly prohibited.
- Walking on foot at a distance from the truck is strictly prohibited.
- Entry by children prohibited.
Traffic rules :
- Adherence to the traffic plan and parking areas (see terminal plan).
- In terminal respect speed limit of 30 Km/hour
- Adhere to traffic rules, sign posts and instructions as established by SOMAPORT..
- Top priority is given to pedestrians and terminal handling machines.
